Pipeline: 1. Asset Creation

This post is a work in progress…

  • Start with a high quality image

  • Use DLIB to identify facial features

  • Use a ‘closest fit’ base mesh

  • Using a 50MM lens, project the DLIB points to align the mesh points, deforming the base mesh until the output matches the source points

  • Align rig to mesh points

  • Skin the mesh to the aif face rig bones, using predetermined weighting

  • Project texture onto mesh using deformation camera

  • Warp projected texture to match standard UV setup
